Inspired by Moby Dick, teachers Gerry Baldwin and Zev Siegl and writer Gordon Bowker opened their first shop in Seattle calling it Starbucks. This was back in March 1971. Although this figure changes nearly daily, there are now approximately 29,300 stores around the world.
Arcitile are pleased to be involved in the tiling package in some of these stores. The current design is a 600 x 600 dark grey porcelain tile in the main areas and on the walls in the rest rooms and a 150 x 75 gloss black tile behind the bistro area.
